All great movements start out small but if there is one movement whose time has come it is the Computer Based Math Movement started by Conrad Wolfram. According to the web site "
computerbasedmath.org is a project to build a completely new math curriculum with computer-based computation at its heart—alongside a campaign to refocus math education away from historical hand-calculating techniques and toward relevant and conceptually interesting topics." I have been arguing for years, without much traction, that we need a completely new methodology for teaching Math and it has to be computer mediated. It now appears that there are many others who agree and so a grass roots movement has begun. Visit the web site to sign up and become a participant and while you are at it, be sure to watch this
